Digital civil certifications, a service that avoids queues

The digital civil certifications is a service offered by the Supreme Election Tribunal (TSE), through its website, since October 18th 2016. And it has the virtue of avoiding long lines and saving time.

According to Luis Guillermo Chinchilla, senior official of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, digital civil certifications are a service that the TSE the Civil Registry made properly available to all users in the comfort of their homes or offices.

Anyone with an Internet connection, either through a computer, a tablet or a smartphone, can request birth, death, singleness, marriage and divorce certificates,”

said Chinchilla.

This system, he said, is kind enough to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.

As a means of payment you must use a Master Card or Visa credit or debit card. And in the same amount that is being canceled, the corresponding taxes are also being paid,”

said the official.

So this system prevents people from having to visit an office of the Civil Registry to buy stamps.

According to Chinchilla, all you have to do is go to the website www.tse.go.cr, then access the link “digital certificates” and then click “acquire certifications” and follow the steps.

It is important to add that digital civil certifications have the same legal validity as the physical certifications issued at the offices of the TSE.

Finally, another advantage of this service is related to the institution’s zero paper policy, which allows substantial savings at the state level, for no longer needing paper.
