Digital Government expects about 100 public institutions use Mer-link from April

One hundred central government institutions are ready to begin shopping through the Mer-link e-procurement platform in the next three months, after signing an agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE).

Digital Government program director, Alicia Avendaño, said the public procurement system Mer-link with the participation of 67 institutional buyers that represent more than 80 percent of public procurement, and a record 7,000 suppliers system users. Mer-link has conducted 4,797 purchasing process online, with awards totaling $167 million, which generated savings of about $ 10 million for the state.
