Do you live in Escazú and still have the Christmas tree? You should read this!

If you are a resident of Escazú and have not yet discarded your Christmas tree out of laziness or lack of time, this is very good news.

In order to avoid trees ending up in rivers or vacant lots, the Municipality of Escazú will gather all the trees on January 28th.

Pilar Delgado, head of the municipal squad, said that both artificial and natural trees are being collected, the former being taken to a deposit of recyclable materials.

The idea is to collect them and bring them to the landfill. There is a green waste program but is still not working, and we hope that next year we can have it to reuse that material. A collection was made on the 14th, but many people called again for the service,”

said the woman.

The collection will start at 6:00 a.m. Those who are interested can send their exact home address to recoleccionresiduos@escazu.go.cr to benefit from the service.
