Earthquake with epicenter in Jacó shook the country

A four-degree earthquake was reported at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI). The epicenter was located 10 kilometers southwest of Jacó, in Garabito de Puntarenas.

According to an official report given by OVSICORI, the telluric movement was 10 kilometers deep.

Residents of Jacó, Herradura and Playa Hermosa confirmed that they perceived the earthquake. Similarly, some inhabitants of the Central Valley also said they felt the tremor.
