Ecological wiring will protect wildlife in Heredia

The Public Services Company of Heredia (ESPH) is developing a project to install a new ecological wiring system in Chorreras de San Rafael de Heredia.

The initiative, which is 80% complete, uses a special cable
to protect the species that use it as a bridge. The cable system is semi-isolated and compact, and protects animals from electric shocks.

In addition, the service interruption in the sector will decrease because it protects the cable from falling tree branches.

The execution of the project began in August, with the installation of two kilometers of primary and secondary cable, as well as the replacement of 39 wooden posts, connections and transformers.

In a second phase, three kilometers of cable, 49 posts connections and 50-year-old transformers were replaced with special equipment with vegetable oil inside, which makes them environmentally friendly and free of all danger in case of leaks.
