Rafael Giroud, defense attorney of Marco Zamora Solórzano, better known as “El Indio,” asked for a reduction of the 70-year sentence that was issued to him on charges of drug trafficking, murder and conspiracy in February 2015.
According to Giroud, the judgment was only based on different wiretaps, so the process should be reviewed.
The judicial authorities have declared that El Indio is the leader of one of the drug-trafficking gangs that operate in the capital city. He was detained in 2012.
