Entrepreneurs support dual pilot educational plan

Costa Rican businessmen support the approval of the pilot plan for the implementation of dual education. It will be applied in the automotive area.

The Costa Rican Union of Chambers and Associations of the Private Business Sector (UCCAEP) is very-well disposed towards this initiative that was approved on December 8th by the Higher Council of Education, to be implemented in four educational centers.

Víctor Ruiz, President of UCCAEP, explained that this is a step in the right direction,

one of the biggest advantages is that young people can learn in a practical way in different companies… It involves training in accordance with the real needs of the productive sector.

The plan will be launched next year. It will be applied to 4 groups of 15 to 20 students in the automotive specialty from the Vocational School of Arts and Crafts (COVAO) in Cartago, in Monseñor Sanabria Technical Professional School in Desamparados, in Carlos Manuel Vicente Technical Professional School in Golfito and Jesús Ocaña Technical Professional School in Alajuela.

Some of the most notable advantages of dual education are the greater employment opportunities for young people, the access to technology in enterprises and the possibility of getting scholarships, subsidies and additional benefits for the students.
