False alarm for explosive in Courts

Yesterday afternoon, the authorities ruled out that there was an explosive in the First and Second Judicial Circuit, located in downtown San José and Guadalupe, respectively.

The dismissal came after the Special Intervention Unit (SIU) of the Ministry of the Presidency did a review of both buildings, which were evacuated after the alert.

In both structures of the Judicial Power the alarm for explosives was activated at about 2 in the afternoon.

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) said that internal security was initially taking care of the emergency. However, the Presidential Palace confirmed that the UEI intervened.

For now the details of the alert are unknown.
