First Costa Rican satellite would go to space next Monday

The CRS-14 mission launch window opens on April 2nd at 3:30 p.m., and the final destination for Irazú satellite, the first Costa Rican and Central American, will travel to the International Space Station.

Opening a launch window means that if the weather conditions and techniques are correct, the spacecraft can take off. The satellite has technology that will allow monitoring climate change.

The Irazú project is developed by the Central American Association of Aeronautics and Space and the Technological of Costa Rica.

The first Central American satellite measures 10 centimeters on each side, a perfect cube and weighs one kilogram. The Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX will take the Costa Rican satellite to space and is expected to broadcast the launch through its YouTube channel.

Everything is scheduled to leave Cape Cañaveral in Florida.
