For the love of Chepe! Celebrate Valentine’s Day with an Art City Tour

Can you imagine having a romantic getaway in San José on February 14th? The Art City Tour will be back this Wednesday with a Por amor a Chepe edition. The event seeks to create a spirit of unity through collective action, through mass participation in a photo session at La Plaza de la Cultura at 8:00 p.m.

The call is open to couples, friends, family, and all people who want to seal their love for the country with a kiss.

It is especially relevant in the climate of polarization of criteria that our country has experienced in the last hours and it becomes a lovely call to promote national unity. May the spirit of this date allow us to create and repair ties during the variety of dynamics of the Art City Tour,”

said Henry Bastos, director of GAM Cultural that develops the program.

A kiss for Costa Rica is part of the cultural offer from Art City Tour for the Day of Love and Friendship, where attendees have at their disposal more than 30 different activities alluding to the date.

Free of charge, you can visit museums, galleries, cultural centers, designer stores and heritage buildings in downtown San José, Barrio Amón, Barrio Otoya, Barrio Escalante, Los Yoses and La Sabana.

These are some of the activities you will find:
• The French Alliance will transport us to Paris: they can seal their love in the gates of the building by means of a ribbon with the names of the lovers. Represent the padlocks that were placed in the Pont des Arts in Paris, and then throw the key to the river Seine, symbolizing that love will last forever. Short films will be screened.
• Lovely Fair: the local design fair will be at the Pila de la Melaza of the Contemporary Art and Design Museum.
• Food: there will be “mercaditos” in El Jardín de Lolita y Escalante. La Base walking route will offer tastings and special food menu.
• Music: there will be a retreat in Morazán Park where you will witness the recreation of a time of yesteryear and how older generations fell in love. It is an initiative organized by ChepeCletas , and will feature live music to the rhythm of Jalamelule and the Barahona Lubín Orchestra and the Caballeros y las Damas del Ritmo. From 6:00 p.m.
• History of the country: in the Museum of the Memory of the National Museum of Costa Rica you can listen to seniors who will tell the story of Costa Rica.

The entrances to the different cultural spaces are free, as well as the different routes by means of diverse modalities of urban transport: minibus, bicycle and on foot. For the love of Chepe is the first edition of the 2018 season. The next one will be Chepe joins us on March 14th.
