Former Drug Police switch sides and got arrested with a gang in Cartago

A former agent of the Drug Control Police (PCD) was arrested on Thursday morning as a member of a drug trafficking gang in Cartago.

Authorities arrested four men with surnames Romero Murillo (40), Maroto Granados (27), Maroto Salazar (30) and Ramírez Rojas (40). The latter was a former agent of the PCD, as confirmed by police sources.

Agents of the OIJ received confidential information and that lead them to conduct raids in San Blas, La Pitahaya, and confiscate six vehicles, which were used for the distribution of drugs.
