Former Minister of Economy will take office in the Ministry of Labor

President Carlos Alvarado chose Geannina Dinarte Salas, former Minister of Economy in the past administration, as the new Minister of Labor.

Through a press release, the Presidency announced that on Thursday the President appointed Dinarte, who had been serving as the head of advisors to the legislative section of the Citizen Action Party (PAC), in Congress.

Dinarte holds a degree in Political Science, with an emphasis on Government and Public Policy, and has a Master’s Degree in Development Project Management from the Central American Institute of Public Administration (ICAP).

During her time with the Executive Power in the last administration, she was the Deputy Minister of Economy when the alleged well-known case of corruption known as “cementazo” was woven.

The controversy surrounded her when the media denounced that, she “worked” late at night with her former parter, recently deceased Mariano Figueres, in the extinct bar Buenos Aires, in Santa Teresita, using a government car and security escort.

Dinarte Romero will replace Steven Núñez, who was forced to resign after, without permission, requesting a security escort to make his way through vehicular traffic on a tour to Limón. On that journey, officer Juan Carlos Mora died after an accident.
