Former Minister of MOPT is Rafael Ortiz’s campaign manager

Randall Quirós, former Minister of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) has been assigned as campaign manager to the presidential candidate from the Social Christian Unity Party (PUSC), Rafael Ortiz.

Quirós, who led the MOPT during the presidency of Pacheco de la Espriella (2002-2006), is supporting Ortíz instead of Rodolfo Piza, general secretary of PUSC.

The former minister said that there is still not a date for the official launch of the campaign, but that progress is being made in several important aspects of it, such as image and communication, and emphasized that  Ortíz is a man who is

“close to Costa Ricans, open to dialogue and away from traditional politics.”

Quirós also questioned the decision of National Liberation Party (PLN) to consider two former presidents as their options for the 2018 elections, instead of looking for new leaders.

The politician was pleased, despite the fact that Ortíz has not yet made major electoral movements, he has been pointed out in the polls as one of the potential candidates to win the 2018 presidential campaign.
