American Expatriate Costa Rica

Government appointed ambassadors to Colombia, Australia and OAS

On February 26th, the government announced the appointment of María Fulmen Salazar Elizondo as Ambassador of Costa Rica in the Republic of Colombia, and Armando Vargas Araya as Ambassador in the Commonwealth of Australia.

They also announced the appointment of Olger Ignacio González Espinoza as alternate ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), and Max Valverde Soto before the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

In the case of Salazar Elizondo, she left her position in the government as Human Development Minister and president of the Mixed Institute of Social Assistance (IMAS) in January this year. The official left her position in a complicated panorama since there had been delays in subsidies, scholarships and care networks.
