The government updated the tax on vehicles property

On October 31st, the updating of the tax on vehicle ownership for 2017 fiscal year it was published in the Official Gazette. There is a list of values for vehicles, aircraft and boats, as well as the amounts of “value” and the “minimum rate” signed by Vice Minister of Revenue from the Ministry of Finance Fernando Rodriguez and second vice president of the Republic Ana Helena Chacón.

The tax on vehicle ownership costs, charged by the Ministry of Finance, is just one of the items included in the marking system, which consists of the following charges:

-Compulsory Insurance Automotive (SOA).
-Contribution to the Road Safety Council.
-Sales Tax on SOA.
-Violations of the Traffic Law.
-Parking meters.
-Tax for Municipalities.
-ARESEP’s Canon on public transport (CTP) (Buses and Taxis).
-Fauna and Scout stamps.

Last year, the premium of compulsory motor insurance for private vehicles rose to 5.15%.

It also increased for light-duty vehicles (7.02%) and heavy-duty vehicles (2.96%).
