Government will open two other centers for immigrant care

President Luis Guillermo Solís reported on national television that the government will open two new centers for the care of immigrants. The stalls will be set up in La Cruz, Guanacaste and Los Chiles, Alajuela.

The first center for humanitarian aid for immigrants, located in Buenos Aires de Puntarenas, takes care of women and children, whereas the one from Golfito mostly takes care of adults.

Last month, 1409 immigrants entered Costa Rica illegally, mostly from Africa. However, they’ll have a difficult path towards the United States, since Nicaragua closed its borders.
