Security forces’ officers found green sea turtle meat in a bar in Limón. The discovery was made on Saturday night in a freezer.
According to Ministry of Public Security’s press office, the meat was analyzed by a biologist from the National Coast Guard, who determined that the meat was from that reptile. It is an endangered species and its hunting is prohibited.
Bar owners would be charged by the District Attorney´s Office of Limón.
Apparently, both acquired turtle meat as an appetizer to their customers.
The meat was seized by the authorities.
