Harrison Ford welcomed Carlos Alvarado in environmental protection forum

President Carlos Alvarado participates in the New York forum of “Securing our future: people, food and nature to solve the planetary emergency,” within the framework of actions taken by Costa Rica to fight climate change, among which stand out a new coalition for 2030 with which the protection of 30% of the planet is visualized.

The activity was inaugurated by the mythical American actor Harrison Ford, who welcomed the Costa Rican president for the respective announcements of his work.

Ford is the Vice President of Conservation International, an American nonprofit organization devoted to environmental protection.

We have talked about the topic of nature-based solutions to fight against climate change, we have said that Costa Rica will promote a group of high ambition in nature during the Precop in Costa Rica in October also setting ambitious goals in this area,”

said President Carlos Alvarado.

Recently, Costa Rica was highlighted by NASA because it is one of the countries where less forest fires occur in the world, something Alvarado used as a basis for his intervention in the forum.
