Health reports 10 stands in Zapote with bacteria that cause diarrhea

San José’s festivities started on December 25th. Since then, the Ministry of Health has reported 10 food stands with bacteria such as staphylococcus aureus, escherichia coli, and listeria, which cause diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain and vomiting.

Nelson Cordero, coordinator of inspections of the entity, said that some of the affected stands sell mangoes, pupusas, and meat.

According to the doctor, the owners of the stands were warned to follow a series of recommendations to continue selling food.

During the holidays there will be 820 laboratory samples, so that attendees can be confident that the food they eat has the necessary hygiene.

We are quite happy because both the stands and the rides have complied with the recommendations given by the ministry. All visitors to the fairgrounds can be sure of what they are ingesting. Our mission is that the preparation of food is the best possible so that there is no impact on the public health of visitors,”

added the doctor.
