If your ID has not expired, you don’t have to change it

If your current identification card is in good condition and it has not expired yet, you don’t have to change it.

The Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) started issuing the new identification cards with a modern format.

However, despite the changes, it is not necessary to get a new ID if the document has not expired and it is not damaged.

The new format improves the card’s durability and safety.

The delivery service will gradually improve, but it currently takes about 10 days to get the new ID.

Financial institutions, businesses, notaries and public institutions must remember that all IDs are valid and must be legally recognized.
