Judicial Inspection opens case against Prosecutor’s Office

The Judicial Inspection opened a case against Suzi Polette Valverde Ávila, an assistant prosecutor who signed the dismissal in favor of the Chinese cement importer, Juan Carlos Bolaños, and former legislator and advisor of the Christian Social Unity Party, Wálter Céspedes.

Valverde Ávila worked as assistant prosecutor in the Prosecution of Probity, Transparency and Anti-Corruption. She was transferred to the Juvenile Criminal Prosecutor’s Office last Friday.

The woman is also married to Deputy Minister of Labor, Juan Alfaro López.

A source linked to the case told CRHoy.com that the transfer was a measure taken after the discoveries made by prosecutors, led by Attorney General Ai, Emilia Navas, in the offices of Judge Celso Gamboa.

The deputy prosecutor, 29, testified before the Legislative Commission investigating the loans granted by the Bank of Costa Rica to the Chinese cement importer, Juan Carlos Bolaños, precisely on Thursday night while the raids were being carried out in the Supreme Court of Justice.
