Judiciary wants a woman for the Vice President vacancy

On Monday, the Judicial Branch began the process of registration of candidacies for the office of the Vice Presidency of the Supreme Court of Justice.

In a press release they indicated that a female magistrate will be appointed to the position, in compliance with the agreement adopted by the highest judicial body, to guarantee gender equity in the highest positions of the Supreme Court of Justice.

The appointment of this position will take place on January 21st.

This occurs after Judge Carmenmaría Escoto Fernández accepted her retirement.
