Kivú finally got to meet his new house

Kivú is slowly recovering in a special space in Rescate Animal Zoo Ave, where he was transferred from the Simón Bolívar Zoo.

A video posted on the Facebook page from the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) shows the animal exploring the space and eating.

On Friday, the containment area was opened for Kivú to start exploring its new home. “It still has a good appetite and it is very curious about its surroundings. He has been very comfortable, quiet and resting in his containment area. We are still waiting for the health report based on the results of the tests that were done the day of the transfer,” indicated the publication by MINAE.

The 18-year-old lion was transferred from San José to Alajuela because it was determined that it required better living conditions, after several health problems.
