Michael Arce, legislator from the National Liberation Party (PLN), reported that the National Highway Council (CONAVI) left several unfinished works of the rehabilitation project of the route between Grecia and Naranjo.

According to the legislator, he received a copy of a letter by which the engineer Alfonso Quesada, from CONAVI, replied the mayor of Valverde Vega, Luis Oscar Quesada Esquivel, that the project had been completed.

However, Arce said the works, which cost ¢ 2.300 million, were abandoned.

I have gone myself and I found more than 30 abandoned intersections, from the Latin Quarter of Grecia to Naranjo, with high slopes between cantonal routes and the national routes, causing a huge risk to people who are driving these roads,”

said Arce.

The legislator added that the residents have troubles to enter their homes and businesses, due to sewers filled with sand and the absence of a waterproof seal at the edges of the tracks.

The project has not been completed, even though the government and CONAVI announced it was,”

said the legislator.
