Legislators: “Álvarez Desanti is hindering the bill!”

Legislators from three political parties accused president of the Legislative Assembly and presidential candidate of Partido de Liberación Nacional (PLN) Antonio Álvarez Desanti of hindering the bill that aims to reform pensions of the Judiciary.

At a press conference, lawmakers representing Partido Unión Social Cristiana (PUSC), Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC) and Movimiento Libertario in the Special Commission on Pension Regimes argued that the session, in which the text of the Superintendence of Pensions (SUPEN) was rejected, is invalid.

However, Franklin Corella and Marcela Guerrero of PAC and Natalia Díaz of Movimiento Libertario also declared that Álvarez Desanti committed himself to the unions of the Judiciary so that the SUPEN text could be discarded to take into account the one presented by the unions.

Lawmakers agreed that the session of the Pension Committee held on Tuesday is invalid because the bill to reform pensions of the Judiciary is still in consultation before different public institutions.
