The government of Carlos Alvarado has been deficient so far, according to the legislators.
The liberationist María José Corrales questioned the slow progress of the road to San Carlos and the few actions to stop the massive influx of Nicaraguans due to the political, economic and social situation of the neighboring country.
On the other hand, Víctor Morales, head of the Citizen Action Party (PAC), believes the immigration issue has been dealt with in a timely manner by the Foreign Ministry and Migration.
The issue of citizen security was seen as deficient by both Corrales and Carlos Avendaño, head of the National Restoration fraction, who believes these first days have reflected little progress in issues that affect all citizens.
There have also been missteps in the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) for the transfer of 15 billion colones to the Special Fund for Higher Education (FEES) despite the infrastructure problems in schools and colleges.
Erwen Masis, head of the Christian Social Unity Party (PUSC) party, believes the economic problem inherited by Alvarado from the Solís Rivera administration has made this government focus on solving this fiscal crisis.
Morales added that the President of the Republic stands out for promoting dialogue and work from a perspective of unity instead of division. According to the legislator, the tax issue is the urgent and mandatory task to prevent the country from falling into an irreversible economic crisis.
