Legislators to participate in the Network of parliamentarians of the OECD

Four legislators traveled to Paris, France, to participate in the meeting of the Network of parliamentarians of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The event will be held between February 13th and 15th and it will allow legislators to talk to the highest authorities of the Organization, including Secretary General, Angel Gurría, on the reforms that are urgent in the country in different areas such as economic, educational and social, among others. They will also share with legislators from other countries, and experts from the OECD.

The attendees are the independent Jonathan Prendas, the liberationists Carlos Ricardo Benavides and Silvia Hernández, and the Christian Socialist Erwen Masís.

The country’s goal is to enter the Organization in the year 2020.

This is an opportunity to ratify the commitment to the best practices promoted by the OECD, such as the fight against corruption, the economic reactivation, the promotion of transparency, the control of public, spending and deepen the cooperation offered by other countries,”

noted the legislators.

Prendas explained that two trips were paid by the Legislative Assembly and the other two by the Executive Power.
