Legislators want to bury project that weakens INA

Legislators from different political parties seek ways to dictate a death sentence on the bill that would weaken the National Training Institute (INA) to create more bureaucracy.

The initative they are trying to ban would take 15% of INA’s budget to finance the creation and operation of the Costa Rican Agency for Productive Innovation, Promotion and Added value (FOMPRODUCE), a public non-state entity that would not be subject to the principles of administrative contracts or the supervision of the Office of the Comptroller General.

The controversial bill was proposed by the Ministries of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG); Economy, Industry and Commerce (MEIC); Science, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT); and Foreign Trade (COMEX).
