Liquor retailers are asking for a change in the patent payment methodology

The Chamber of Retailers of Costa Rica along with other related Chambers, sent a missive to local governments asking for a new way to collect patents. They are backed up by the approval of the reform of article 10 of the 9047 Act, signed by the President of the Republic.

This initiative will benefit them because the license fee for selling liquor will rely on the economic potential of their business.

The costs of patents are going to be based on the location size, the number of employees and the annual sales.

Ana Teresa Vásquez, executive director of the National Chamber of Retailers, declared that they need to establish a new plan for the collections.
