Local emergency brigades are still working on Golfito

The Municipal Emergency Committee of Golfito reported that it continues working in the area to address the different cases that occurred two days ago due to heavy rains and floods.

According to Walter Fonseca, operations officer of the National Emergency Commission,

we will carry out the inspection of at least eight homes that were affected by landslides.”

Fonseca added that

the Municipal Emergency Committee of Golfito has been engaged in enabling transit between Llano Bonito and Playa Cacao, so that Golfito’s asada can recover 2 of the 3 driving lanes that were affected and the passage to the Viquillas.”

He also said they will continue with the food distribution that was sent on Monday by the CNE, the evaluation of damages and distribution of water in at least two communities.

Some other damages have also been reported in housing, education, road infrastructure and sewage aqueducts , for which different actions have been authorized these days,”
