Low speed and few passengers avoided tragedy after train crash

The low speed and a small number of passengers, allowed for no major consequences of the train accident that occurred on Monday morning in Sabana.

According to Guillermo Pacheco, Operational Coordinator of the Region, both trains came at low speed, which allowed the impact to be lower. In addition, the fact that the crash occurred in a straight line, favored that the machinists had better visibility.

In total, 13 patients were transferred to the Trauma Hospital, with several blows mainly at the extremities and thorax level.

According to a report by the Red Cross, most passengers evacuated both machines on their own.

One of the machinists had minor blows, however he opposed going to the medical center.
