Man with reduced mobility could have a new life

After a car accident , Diego Chavarría was confined to a wheelchair but 9 years later, his torment has not ended.

On Thursday he went to San José 1 st. Circuit Civil Court, to look for help to be compensated for damages caused to him.

Due to the accident, Diego lost the ability to walk because fifth and sixth cervical vertebrae were fractured and his spinal cord was affected.

He has one daughter and even though he is graduated, he couldn’t find a job. As consequence, he got a pension.

The man involved was sentenced to a year in jail and his license was suspended for 2 years.

The car that hit him had an insurance policy but it was sold it and since then, Diego had been looking for
the new owner to use it.

Yestrday at 9:30 am, the car’s new owner agreed to sign the policy. Now Diego hopes that it can bring him some pace and have a better life.
