Marcial Fallas Clinic ended strike

After several hours in a strike that affected the attention of some patients in the Marcial Fallas Clinic, the staff reached an agreement on Monday afternoon.

Reportedly, the clinic will be reinforced with more security officers. The contract to third parties will be extended from October and for the time being, the reinforcement will be done with officials of the institution.

Moreover, the profile of 8 seats for emergency service users will change, with the goal of having 9 doctors in the first shift, 7 in the second and 5 in the third.

Héctor Araya, director of the Clinic, explained that they will carry out a study to assess the demand and strengthen all services provided by this medical center, and they will also assess the organizational structure to provided better care.

Araya added that a plan will be designed to reschedule the appointments that could not take place due to the strike.

Marcial Fallas Clinic serves about a thousand patients a day, including those who visit specialized consultation and emergencies.
