Mayor of Tibás to propose changes to face road congestion

Carlos Cascante, Mayor of Tibás, said that although they believe the reorganization of the road will bring benefits to the users of public transport, it is also necessary to make some changes to the original plan.

According to Cascante, in three days there have been positive results, since the 72 routes that pass through the canton have decreased their trips in up to 30 minutes. However, he said that this has had a side effect on drivers.

From Santo Domingo to Tibás we are having unusual traffic jams. If it used to be problematic, it’s bigger now,”

explained the Mayor.

Cascante said that on August 17th they will meet with deputy minister of Transportation to find solutions mainly on the road that comes from east to west, that is, from Heredia to San José.

The Mayor added that if these changes are not made, the positive effects obtained in the public transport will be lost. In addition, they expect to readjust some stops, for example from the buses of La Florida.
