Metrópoli Buses’ drivers are against the new fare

Metrópoli Buses announced that bus drivers are against the fare increase and they will not charge the new rate set up by ARESEP. This increase was established for Cartago-Cot and Cartago-Puente Bailey routes, also known as Route 307.

According to Orlando Ramírez, legal representative of Metrópoli Buses, despite ARESEP’s decision, the association is not going to increase the fares. He added that it is a mistake and they have requested and inmediate revision of this case before it affects users.

The new fares would be as follow:

-Cartago-Cot route went from 245 colones to 495 colones
-Cartago-Puente Bailey route went from 145 colones to 495 colones.

According to Ramírez, not increasing the rate will expose the company to sanctions and penalties, legal situations that will be faced in due time, because the priority now is to show ARESEP’s mistake.

Yesterday afternoon the company and Cot and Cartago residents met to evaluate the actions they will take.
