Faced with the critical situation of vehicular traffic in the country, the private sector relies more and more on teleworking. During 2017, 41% of the companies adopted this policy to avoid that their employees lose productive time stuck in traffic.
54% said they did not apply it. There are some sectors in which, this type of work is well received, such as the services and financial area; while for others, its application is not as effective, as in agriculture, trade and manufacturing,”
said Jorge Araya, deputy director of the Costa Rican Union of Chambers and Associations of the Business Sector (UCCAEP).
Other questions associated with labor issues were internships. The data indicate that during 2017 82% of the companies accepted a practitioner inside the organization. Araya added that this shows the commitment of the sector.
