More than 300 motions await the fiscal plan

Lawmakers presented 373 motions of reiteration on the bill to strengthen public finances to be discussed in the Legislative Plenary. The data was confirmed in the Secretariat of the Directory where the documents had to be presented.

Legislators had time to present the motions until the end of the second parliamentary session, which took place on Monday afternoon, because in the morning they participated in an extraordinary session in order to know the report sent to the Plenary.

Carolina Hidalgo, president of the Congress, informed that now she should be in charge of issuing a report on the admissibility for which she does not have an established period. She will have to review all the motions, since they must comply with the provisions of motion 208 bis.

Some rules established by this procedure have to do with the fact that the motions must be related, that is, related to the tax reform. For example, the Department of Technical Services of the Legislative Assembly stated two weeks ago that the motion on the salary of doctors was disconnected, because they cannot assess a salary issue with a tax issue.

In addition, it establishes that a legislator can only submit a motion for reiteration, whose purpose is to introduce one or several new articles, paragraphs, clauses, chapters or a substitute text.
