Mosquitoes don’t like cold weather

According to the Ministry of Health, new cases of zika, dengue and chikungunya tend to be less in recent weeks.

The atypical year was 2015, because it started very well and ended very bad. Historically. during these weeks of the year, cases decrease, it is normal since it is the cold season,

explained Rodrigo Marín, in charge of the Vector Control Program from the Ministry of Health.

In addition, the cold that dispel mosquitoes will come next week in the Central Valley and parts of the Pacific, as confirmed by Eladio Solano, from the National Meteorological Institute.

However, rainy conditions will prevail in the Caribbean, the North Zone and it is likely to rain in areas from the central and southern Pacific.

As consequence, Marín insisted that people should be careful with stagnant water because mosquitoes breeding sites can proliferate.
