New BCR manager linked to cementazo

The Board of Directors of the Bank of Costa Rica appointed as interim general manager Eduardo Ramírez, a lawyer linked to the cementazo.

This was denounced by legislator Patricia Mora , from Frente Amplio, during an intervention in the Legislative Plenary.

According to the lawmaker, Ramírez, who at the time was legal director of the bank, facilitated with the hiring of Mario Barrenechea, now in custody, as general manager of the BCR.

This, in spite the fact that Barrenechea did not meet the necessary requirements, such as being affiliated to the School of Economic Sciences.

Mora stressed that “Mr. Ramírez issued a criterion that ended up favoring the $ 30 million loan granted by the BCR to the Chinese cement importer, Juan Carlos Bolaños.

The legislator asked the directors of the bank to rectify the appointment of Ramírez.
