New device will help find trapped victims

The Fire Department has a new tool to face emergencies.

The USAR Group of the Fire Department is testing the new equipment to search for trapped people in collapsed structures. The practice was carried out at the facilities of the National Fire Academy in San Antonio de Desamparados,”

reported the fire department.

In that place, 21 firefighters were trained on the use and benefits that this new tool will bring in the rescue work, helping them locate people or animals that are under 30 meters of material such as stone, metal, plastic, and even inside tanks filled with water.

Only the Mexican and Chilean groups specialized in urban rescue of Mexico, Chile have this equipment. Now, Costa Rican firefighters acquired the most recent model.
