Nicaraguan women defended three Costa Ricans

In the last hours, several videos recorded a confrontation which involved authorities from the Nicaraguan army, located in the border post, in the Nicaraguan sector of San Carlos.

About 50 women, older adults and children, did not think it twice to defend three Costa Ricans who were held by the Nicaraguan army. The national citizens entered the foreign territory to help dozens of families from both countries who had not had water or food during a week.

The events were recorded at the end of the week when the army retained the Costa Ricans, as well as the car in which they traveled, but a few hours later problems started outside the command headquarters.

the Costa Ricans’ identity was not revealed and the act did not create a diplomatic conflict between both countries. However, the women took advantage of the situation to berate the members of the army for abandoning their own government in times of emergency.
