No need to take an ID copy for administrative processes anymore!

Last July, President Luis Guillermo Solís issued the Guideline Number 52 MP, instructing all public offices to stop asking a photocopy of the identity card (cédula) or the legal certificate for any administrative procedure. This guideline applies since September 2nd, following its publication in La Gaceta.

Solís administration wants to expedite the proceedings in public offices and avoid unnecessary use of paper with information that is electronically available, thereby reducing the costs in paper, ink and electricity, as part of the National Strategy plan of Action on Climate Change.
