OIJ removes controversial ad

The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) removed a controversial ad from its website, as it asked women not to wear provocative clothing to avoid rape.

This was confirmed on Monday morning by Walter Espinoza, director of the entity, who assured that the document was loaded on the website by mistake. The poster was created in 2004 and it was outlawed since 2007.

The website was not administered by the OIJ before, we only took it six months ago. During the creation of the platform we pulled all the information and this was uploaded by mistake,”

added the hierarch.

Espinoza explained that this is not a recommendation offered by the OIJ.

We are respectful of fundamental rights, of human dignity and no difference is established by the way a person dresses or expresses. The current vision is very different from what happened in 2003-2004,”

explained Espinoza.
