Only 15% of projects in extraordinary sessions have to do with economic recovery

Of the 173 initiatives convened by the Government so far for extraordinary sessions in the Legislative Assembly, only 14.4% have to do with economic recovery, according to data from the Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).

That is, only 25 projects are related to that objective.

We are shocked that the struggle to revive the economy, to generate more employment and to reduce informality is not reflected in an agenda of robust projects aimed at achieving those objectives. It is necessary for the Executive Power to set the tone and commit to implementing measures and supporting legislative initiatives that seek to reach those conditions,”

said Elías Soley, president of AmCham.

In addition, the group believes that the 173 projects are an excessive amount for such a short period of discussion (one month) and denotes indefinition and lack of prioritization by the Executive Power.
