Palmares’ inhabitants will have access to the Municipality’s web

On December 12th, the residents of Palmares, in Alajuela, will have the Municipality in their cell phone or computers.

A digital platform is looking to expose the transparency of local government and to offer users a space for citizen participation and accountability.

The tools to make citizen reports, open data and all the plans of the institution as well as those of the Administration are now on the site “Transparencia Municipal”

Within the same platform, a link called Active Citizenship was enabled to involve the community with municipal management. The purpose is to allow the neighbors to provide support in the processes, ideas and new projects for their canton.

The platform was developed by the Department of Informatics of the municipality using free software tools and the support of the Community Work Program of the University of Castro Carazo (UMCA).
