Pokémon Go is helping patients at The C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital

Pokémon Go has revolutionized patients’ care at The C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.

Doctors have started to use the game as one of the methodologies for children’s rehabilitation.

Therapists from the medical center encourage patients to get up from their stretchers in order to go to catch pokémons such as Pikachu or Charmander. This method has had positive results.

As explained by J. J. Bouchard, chief digital officer of the medical center, the application has improved the
relationship between doctors and children, that used to be quite complicated because children were little expressive.

However, the situation has changed since the game is used, as doctors and nurses have joined Pokémon fever and now they interact with children on the subject. Similarly , the relationship among patients has been strengthened because now they all have a topic in common to share and talk about.
