Police officers against Public Employment Law

Unions that represent police agencies in Costa Rica are opposed to the proposed Public Employment Law. According to their representatives, the project to rationalize public spending includes 2 sections that would jeopardize their wages. In addition, they warn that budget cuts in law enforcement could endanger public safety.

This project is also rejected by other unions, such as the Municipal Police of San José, the Professional Police of Migration, the Airport Police, the Air Surveillance, Traffic and Penitentiary Surveillance, and park rangers.
