Police hindered robbery to foreigner in Liberia Airport

A couple failed in their attempt to steal cash and goods from a Canadian tourist in Guanacaste. Officers of the Airport Police of the Directorate of the Air Surveillance Service (SVA) apprehended a man and a woman who had in their possession $5,000 dollars in cash and the belongings of the foreigner.

The incident took place at the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia de Guanacaste. The tourist went to the restrooms and forgot a case where she had the money, credit cards and passports of her husband and son.

Then she left the place and minutes later noticed it was missing. The police noticed that another woman went into the same restroom and minutes later a man did, who said he had lost some belongings. They both left the place later and went to the parking lot.

The couple tried to flee. But the SVA intercepted them in the place. The police body requested the cooperation of the judicial agents, who transferred them to the Alajuela Prosecutor’s Office. The affected filed the complaint.
