Police link 8 burnt bodies to organized crime

During 2016, police have found eight burnt bodies and suspect this is in a new tactic of organized crime in handling internal purges or fighting rivals.

Just this week, a total of three burnt bodies appeared in different locations of the country

Of the eight cases over the last six months, only one resulted in an arrest for a body found near in Cartago near the Irazu volcano on December 31, 2015.

Most of the found bodies had gunshot wounds, were gagged and two had bags around their heads.

The authorities said that local organized crime is copying the actions of criminal groups from other countries in the region.
