Prendas will stay in Commission on Public Spending

Despite the doubts about the possible permanence of Jonathan Prendas in the Public Expense and Income commission, the independent legislator and member of the so-called New Republic Bloc will remain in that legislative group, deemed as one of the most important lawmakers, for being the public finances inspector.

Prendas feared that external “pressure” prevented him from remaining in the legislative group, especially for having led the investigation of the fiscal gap that ended with former President Luis Guillermo Solís and his former Treasury Minister Helio Fallas identified as the main responsible.

The group will be composed of the same people, namely: Yorleni León, Luis Fernando Chacón from National Liberation, Prendas, and Xiomara Rodríguez from the New Republic Block, Paola Vega from Citizen Action, Pedro Muñoz from the Christian Social Unit, Other Roberto Vargas from the Social Republican Cristiano and the independent Erick Rodríguez.
